In addition to a range of manufacturing processes for parts and assemblies, special surface coatings will be presented for various industrial branches. The professional public's interest was correspondingly high. Many interested parties had scheduled meetings beforehand and arrived with specific projects.

Manufacturing services in greater demand

For G.W.P. AG, participation in Z 2008 , the international fair for parts, components, modules and technologies was a first. Director of Sales, Rocco  Weyers: "The supplier fair is the right forum for us to present ourselves due to the broad spectrum of materials and manufacturing processes. We offer a range of processes for manufacturing mechanical components, especially for small and medium-size series, and this lowers customer process costs. For small and medium-size businesses, global procurement is not worthwhile due to the frequently extreme amount of coordination that is required. The trend to farm out entire components continues unabated.“

Machine building & industrial electronics

The fair booth was an eye-catcher in Hall 3 with the new fair presentation in the company colors of red and light gray with large banners. The fair team fielded questions regarding die-cast aluminum, CNC milling and injection-molded plastic.

Many of the interested parties were from the fields of machine construction and industrial electronics as well as the areas of aviation supply and medical technology. Buyers assessed quality by considering examples and gathered information on service options and project procedure.

A focus on China

Technical Director and Executive Manager, Jörg Faust, flew in from Zhongshan to field questions regarding the expansion of the facility for producing components from drawings in China completed over a year ago. In regard to the risks to buyers associated with sourcing in China, he stated: "There are no universal solutions in China. Our success is based on our long experience and presence there. We developed our reputation as a quality-conscious and reliable supplier from the ground up."

G.W.P.'s offerings at this year's Z fair were rounded out with a lecture in the exhibitor's forum on the topic of "China – Sourcing mechanical components from the supplier's perspective".

"The goal of presenting G.W.P. AG to a broad professional public was highly successful. We got to know many new interested parties. Feedback was very positive. Numerous concrete projects were instigated at the fair," Rocco Weyers noted in conclusion about G.W.P's participation in Z 2008.
