PROTO DIE – Die cast prototypes
With the very economical PROTO DIE method, 1 to 3,000 diecast parts can be manufactured within a short time.
The diecast method for prototypes developed by G.W.P. enables thin-wall prototypes to be made of aluminum, zinc or magnesium with low tooling costs.
You are delivered prototypes and pilot productions manufactured using a diecast method which yields properties and dimensional tolerances normally found in series production! PROTO DIE prototypes correspond to cast parts made from classic serial production dies.
|Delivery time||Minimum of 22 work days|
|Material||Aluminium, zinc, magnesium, brass|
|Feasible number of parts||1 – 3,000 parts (maximum tool life)|
|Tolerances||General tolerances for die casting. Fittings: possible with cnc processing|
|Max. dimension||Approx. 300 mm body diagonals R=√(a2+b2+c2)|
|Max. clamping force||500 t|
|Finish||Fine surface (up to 3.2 - 6.3 Rz)|
|Finishing||CNC machining, barrel finishing, painting, powder coating, galvanizing, protective anodizing (Al)|
|High suitability||- For very high quality thin-wall metal prototypes|
- when you need series-like properties (tests)
- when a die casting series is planned afterward (cost advantages)
- for economical pilot lots and small series
- Automotive: pre-series
- Machine building industry: small series
- Industrial electronics: prototypes for testing of a new product
